Trailing Left Hook

It may seem as if the fighter on the left is throwing a punch blindly, but this is not the case.  The fighter on the right has telegraphed a jab, and her opponent is ducking under it while throwing a trailing left hook.  The move is both defense and offense.  The hope is that the fighter on the right reacts to her defensive maneuver (ducking and twisting away) and doesn't see the punch until it's too late.  After she throws the punch, she will turn to her right and spin away from her opponent so that she is facing her but out of reach of a counter punch.

If the punch misses its mark, there is little risk.  If the maneuver works --as it does here-- she lands a solid punch that catches her opponent either moving in or flat-footed (as it does here).  Unable to roll away from the punch in time, the fighter on the right has taken a shot to the jaw that will almost certainly drop her to the canvas.  And based on the relative condition of their faces, she might be better off if she stays there.
