DCL Profile: The Sin to Win Tag Team

Description

Chrissy and Jane were both relatively small wrestlers, using their speed and skill to win matches.  Early in their careers they lost a close match when their opponents cheated.  They protested to no avail.  When it came to lower-ranked matches, few people cared.  It didn't matter how you got on the contenders list; once you got there the rules were enforced.  They knew that their odds were already long, and if their foes were allowed to cheat they had no chance.  Their next match was an exhibition against one of the contending tag teams, and they decided it would be a great time to make a point.  They cheated throughout the match and barely lost a close fight.  They were pretty sure that their careers in the DCL were over, but were shocked to learn that the fight had been immensely popular-- fan reaction had been loud and intense, and there were as many people rooting for the rule-breaking "little guys" as against them.

The DCL made them an offer: they would become a non-contending exhibition team that would open at their biggest shows every month.  They would be matched up against hand-picked teams and would fight sanctioned matches, but they were expected to cheat as often and as blatantly as possible.  They were insulted by the concept but the money on offer was much better than they had expected.  They came up with a plan that would make this their last payday, and so we get to the moment shown in the image above.  Their first match would be against Donna and Jenny, a team of two tall and very shapely women who looked more like bikini models than wrestlers.  Chrissy lured Donna into a 'test of strength' designed to get the bigger woman to push her into their corner.  Once there, they tried to break as many rules as they could and delivered a beating that was more humiliating than it was physically harmful.  Once again, they assumed that they had punched their ticket out of the DCL.  Once again, they were dead wrong.  The crowd reaction was as intense as it had ever been.  A star was born.

Or more accurately, four stars were born.

The ladies were surprised to find that their opponents were friendly and understanding.  They knew that Chrissy and Jane had held back and made the fight look worse than it felt, though Donna joked that future fights could do with "fewer shots to the lips."  Chrissy explained that she felt awful about it now that she'd gotten to know the two women, and in short order they were friends and business partners.  They became the DCL's version of the Harlem Globetrotters and Washington Generals; Donna and Jenny would play the role of the Buxom Babes, a pair of brash, shapely and utterly clueless patsies who always lost to the 'Sin to Win' team of Chrissy and Jane, who would cheat ruthlessly from start to finish.

The arrengement proved lucrative, but after several years the ladies left the DCL for other pursuits.  The money had been good --too good, perhaps-- but the fights were not meant to be rough, and after a while were more like an elaborate ruse.  Play fighting wasn't going to satisfy the competitive edge the women had, and so they moved on, ending a strange period for the DCL.  Their matches remain the only ones that were not legitimate, and the officials of the league decided not to continue the matches once the women had left.

I love those simple flat-soled ankle boots your women often wear (I've seen frogwomen wear something similar)! Is there a professional name for them...?
